Left anterior cusp of pulmonary valve
Valvula semilunaris sinistra trunci pulmonalis · Levá poloměsíčitá chlopeň plicnice
Heart & arteries
Looks like
One of three pocket-shaped cusps of the valve at the exit of the right ventricle into the lung artery.
What it does
Fills and closes after each beat so blood does not fall back into the right ventricle.
Keeping it well
Narrowing is usually present from birth and can be widened with a balloon. A murmur in a child is checked with ultrasound.
