Right lower lobe
Lobus inferior pulmonis dextri · Pravý dolní lalok
Respiratory system
Looks like
The largest lobe, filling the back and base of the right chest.
What it does
Does most of the breathing at rest, because the lower lung expands most with each breath.
Keeping it well
Lying flat after surgery collapses its base; deep breaths and sitting up prevent pneumonia.
